Registration & Attendance Of Non-Governmental Organizations At The Twelfth Session Of The WTO Ministerial Conference
The following rules and procedures apply for registration and attendance of Non-Governmental Organizations at the Twelfth Session of the WTO Ministerial Conference (MC12) to be held in Geneva,
Switzerland, from 30 November – 3 December 2021:
(i) Registered NGOs will be allowed to attend the Plenary Sessions of the Ministerial
Conference (without the right to speak);
(ii) Applications from NGOs that wish to be accredited are accepted on the basis of Article
V, paragraph 2 of the WTO Agreement, i.e. NGOs “concerned with matters related to
those of the WTO”; and
(iii) NGOs that wish to register to attend the Conference should do so no later than 30
August 2021 (midnight, GMT).
Format
Information on the format of the Ministerial Conference will be communicated in due course.
Registration Process
NGOs wishing to attend MC12 will need to follow two steps as detailed below:
Step 1 – Request registration for your organization
NGOs that wish to attend the Conference will have to complete the online registration form which
includes among others, providing evidence (reports, publications etc.) that demonstrate that their work
is related to WTO issues. Providing this evidence is waived for those NGOs which have attended at
least one WTO Ministerial Conference. Nevertheless, NGOs which have attended at least one
Ministerial Conference will still have to officially complete the online registration in order to be
accredited.
The online NGO registration form can be found at https://eregistration.wto.org/mc12/ngo/register/en.
Please note that the deadline for NGOs to complete the online registration is 30 August 2021 (midnight,
GMT).
Step 2 – Registering individual(s) from your organization
The online form to register individual NGO representative(s) will only be accessible for organizations
whose registration requests have been approved. This form will provide for a maximum of four
individuals to be registered per organization. Individuals should be registered no later than 29 October.
2021 (midnight, GMT). If all criteria have been fulfilled, final confirmation of registration will be sent
soon thereafter.
In line with past practice, the list of accredited NGOs will be circulated to all WTO Members.
