SC Grants Bail to Two Accused

Chhidda Singh and Munna on Wednesday got a big relief from SC as the highest coram granted bail to both the accused. Both accused filed separate writ before the hon’ble court. The bench comprising of Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice Amitava Roy vide order dated 17/01/2018 said that “we are of the view that petitioner needs to be released from jail provisionally. In that view of the matter it is directed that pending further orders in writ petition, the petitioner be released on bail on execution of personal bond to the satisfaction of superintendent of jail”. Both petitioners were also directed to report to SHO at their identical place every fortnight. This order came in petition filed by Chhida Singh. A similar order was passed by the court in the petition of Munna. Both the petitioners were behind bar from a very long period.
