Eight Month Old Rape Case: SC Directed AIIMS Doctors To Supervise The Matter
The Apex Court today, after writ filed by the Advocate AlakhAlokSrivastava Petitioner has directed the government that two doctors from All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) would go to that particular hospital where the victim is currently receiving treatment along with special ambulance and supervise the case of the eight-month-old baby, who was raped by her cousin in drunk state, and thereafter take a decision.
The apex court said, it is “very much concerned” about the 8-month-old infant, allegedly raped by her cousin and orders Delhi Legal Services Authority officials to assist in the case.
While hearing the matter, The three-judge bench of the Apex Court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DipakMisra and also comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud, directed that two competent doctors from AIIMS would supervise the entire case and thereafter take a decision to whether to shift her to AIIMS or what could be the best possible reliefs can be provided her there in Kalawati Saran Hospitalfor the Child as well. The court also directed the Government to provide adequate compensation to the victim’s family and make suitable arrangements for her treatment and asked to submit the report on 1st February 2018 (Thursday).
The incident came to light on Monday, when the infant was admitted to a local hospital.
The brutal crime took place when the girl’s parents, both working, had left her at their relatives’ house.
The apex court listed the matter for further hearing on February 1.
