Complete Domestic Violence Case in Three Months: SC Directed Bandra Court

The Apex Court on Friday directed the Family Court of Bandra (Mumbai) to sum up the domestic violence proceeding pending between renowned tennis star Leander Paes and his estranged wife Rhea within period of three months. Supreme Court earlier on July 18 directed the Bandra court to complete the proceeding in six months. The bench of Justice A.K. Goel and Justice U.U. Lalit extended this time period by three months.

The couple goes through Mediation proceedings but the dispute between them remains unresolved.

The bench said:

“It is not possible to say anything at this stage. We can’t force the parties for settlement. We tried our best to persuade the parties while hearing them in chamber.”

The bench now referred this matter to another bench for passing appropriate order.
