SC restrained NIA to go into validity of Hadiya & Shafin’s Marriage

SC today observed that NIA can’t go into the legality of the marriage of Hadiya and Shafin Jahan. The bench comprising of CJI Dipak Mishra, Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice DY Chandrachud held that Hadiya is a 24 year old adult and she has the right to marry any adult of her choice.Court also noticed that NIA probe will have no bearing in deciding aspects of her legitimacy of marriage of Hadiya and Shafin Jahan which was annulled by Kerala HC.

Matter is now listed for February 22, 2018.
